Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jason Sofa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Harper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jason Sofa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Harper!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Frank Dennis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sofa avoids a punch combination nicely.
Sofa's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Sofa duly obliges.
Harper misses with a wild combination.

Sofa clinches with his opponent.
Harper goes for a takedown attempt but Sofa pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

and Harper counters with a single leg into guard. Sofa didn't expect that.

Harper has gone for a leg lock! Sofa slips out almost immediately though and dives into Harper's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Harper striking off his back but it's not causing Sofa any problems.
Sofa trying to control but Harper is working from the bottom.
Sofa knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Harper on the ground.
Harper lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Sofa!
Sofa tries to buck Harper off but he can't manage it.
The referee warns Sofa that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Sofa tries to lock up and control but Harper gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Sofa is trying desperately to improve position.
Harper sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Sofa is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Sofa flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Harper controlling the pace for now.

Harper working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Sofa looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Harper! Submission of the night perhaps?
