The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lavigne connects with a body shot that sends Laguera's belly button to the back.
Lavigne throws a sloppy body shot
and Laguera counters with a stiff right hand.
Lavigne drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Lavigne throws a solid leg kick but Laguera takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Lavigne.
Lavigne keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Laguera.
Laguera misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Lavigne tries to clinch up.
Laguera throwing a counter right hand but Lavigne manages to avoid it.
Lavigne gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Lavigne walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Lavigne misses with the body kick
and Laguera counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Laguera throws a lazy right hand but Lavigne sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Gervais Lavigne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Laguera walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Lavigne fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Lavigne lands a big head kick that sends Laguera tumbling to the mat! Lavigne takes a step backwards and waves Laguera back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Lavigne misses with a looping right.
Oh Laguera is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd cheers as Laguera lands an impressive looking overhand right. Lavigne doesn't seem phased though.
Laguera seems to have got his legs back now.

Laguera takes a swing at Lavigne's ribcage but misses.
Laguera pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Laguera's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Laguera duly obliges.

Laguera lands with a hook. Lavigne tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Lavigne takes a swing at Laguera's ribcage but misses.
Laguera connects with a crisp jab.

Laguera measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes Lavigne! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!
