Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Childers (ranked 5318 p4p, 4515 weight class) and Easton Funny (ranked 474 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Andrew Childers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Easton Funny!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, David Hoff and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Childers fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Funny to the ground. Childers is now in Funny's guard.
Childers is standing up over Funny. Funny looks to escape but Childers dives into side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Childers cracks Funny with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Childers has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Funny is looking to regain half guard here but Childers keeps moving and retains side control.
Childers definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Funny is trying to get back to his feet.
Childers cracks Funny with a big elbow.
Funny really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Childers. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Childers is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Funny knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Funny dodges the ground and pound from Childers.

Childers wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Funny, who protects the arm well.
Funny tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Funny is trying desperately to improve position.

Childers looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Childers postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Funny looks a forlorn figure.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Childers looking to finish with strikes here!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Childers cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Funny is trying desperately to improve position.

Childers working for a guillotine from mount but Funny is in no mood to give up.
Funny tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Funny is squirming around, avoiding Childers's attempts to control the action.
Funny holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Childers tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Funny is bucking up trying to escape but Childers cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Childers tries to control but Funny wriggling away.

Childers has hold of Funny's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Funny manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The referee warns Funny that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Childers looking to secure an arm triangle but Funny defends it well.
Childers lands a nice shot to the head.
Funny tries to hold on but Childers postures up.
Childers raining down hammerfists from mount.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Childers has hold of Funny's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Funny manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Childers displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Funny.

Funny tries to sprawl but Childers drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Funny is staying active underneath Childers, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Funny has hold of Childers's hands but Childers slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Childers thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Funny's head.

Childers escapes and gets back to his feet.

Funny thows a leg kick but Childers checks it

and Childers counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Childers wants to control from the top but Funny keeps moving.
Childers postures up.
Childers lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Andrew Childers overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Childers controlling from the top position.
Childers throws a big elbow that misses.
Childers slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Childers is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Childers throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Funny works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Childers trying to control the position from guard on top but Funny is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Funny trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

Funny looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Funny is breathing heavily.

Funny had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Childers defends it easily.
Childers missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Childers throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Childers trying to control but Funny is working from the bottom.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Childers shoots in and drives through. Funny sprawls well.
Funny tries to close the distance and clinch up but Childers swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Childers counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Funny shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Childers but Childers pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Childers looking to score a takedown here. Funny is defending well but Childers drives through and ends up in Funny's guard.

Childers stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Childers will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Childers shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Childers showed some decent athleticism there.
Childers landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Childers is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Funny can do to turn this around?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Childers looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Funny with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Childers seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Funny fails with a takedown attempt.
Childers shoots in but no luck this time.
Funny goes for a double leg but Childers avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Childers continues to drive forward.
Funny changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Childers tries to avoid it but Funny manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Childers to the ground. Childers escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Childers half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Andrew Childers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Easton Funny.
Childers catches Funny with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Funny tries to clinch but Childers moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Funny gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Childers counters with a stiff right hand.

and Childers counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!
