The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knuckles throws a looping overhand right but Smith ducks down to avoid it.
Knuckles tries to score a power double leg takedown but Smith sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Knuckles somewhat.
Knuckles shoots for a double leg takedown but Smith sprawls well. He's pushed Knuckles's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Knuckles looks to throw the jab but Smith is out of range.
Mr Knuckles seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Knuckles.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mr Knuckles. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Smith fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Knuckles.
Knuckles misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Knuckles is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Smith.

It looks like Mr Knuckles has been cut.
Smith circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Knuckles drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Smith follows Knuckles to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
