The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Momomoto lands a jab-cross combination.
Momomoto lands the left hand.

Momomoto cracks Ning with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Ning looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Momomoto finish him?

Ning is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ning takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Momomoto throws a hook to the side of Ning 's head but Ning sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Ning shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Momomoto as he jumps to the side.
Ning keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Nice sprawl there from Momomoto as Ning shoots in.
Ning uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Momomoto.
Ning half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Ning takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Momomoto looks to score with a jab to the body but Ning is just out of range.
Ning misses with a takedown attempt - Momomoto sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Momomoto throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Ning sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Ning shoots in looking for a takedown. Momomoto tries to sprawl out of it but Ning keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Momomoto manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Ning shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Momomoto pinned against the cage. Momomoto gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Momomoto throws a big shot that misses.
Ning feinted with a counter takedown.
Ning looks to throw the jab but Momomoto is out of range.
Momomoto appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.

and Ning counters with a nice double leg into side control. Momomoto won't be happy with that.
Momomoto wants to control but Ning postures up.
Ning definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Ning tries to advance to mount but Momomoto denies him.

Momomoto prevents Ning from moving into mount.

Ning is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Momomoto knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Momomoto felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Ning tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Momomoto isn't going anywhere.
Momomoto tries to buck Ning off but Ning is having none of it.

That's time! Ning 's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

and Ning counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Ning .

Momomoto breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Momomoto throws out a loose jab but Ning uses good head movement to avoid it.
Ning feinted with a counter takedown.
Ning shoots in and drives through. Momomoto sprawls well.
Momomoto misses the shot to the body.
Ning shoots in for a takedown but Momomoto shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Momomoto lands a jab to the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Momomoto leaves Ning with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Ning shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Momomoto as he avoids it easily.

Ning closes the distance and clinches up with Momomoto, looking for a takedown. Ning pushes Momomoto against the cage but Momomoto circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Ning throws a leg kick but Momomoto moved away.
Momomoto missing with a left hand there. Ning was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Jab, jab by Momomoto - just one landing.
Ning closes this distance looking for a takedown but Momomoto circles away.
Momomoto swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Momomoto is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ning .

Ning takes a swing at Momomoto's ribcage but misses.
Momomoto looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Momomoto closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
A decent looking cross lands there for Momomoto.

Momomoto gets caught napping as Ning dives in and scores a takedown. Momomoto manages to retain guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ning passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Ning looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Ning misses with the ground and pound.
Momomoto prevents Ning from improving position.

Momomoto tries to bench press Ning off him but Ning keeps the position.

Ning tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Ning in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Momomoto can do anything to dispel that myth.
Momomoto is trying to control Ning 's posture but Ning avoids it.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Momomoto stops Ning from passing to mount.
Ning trying to control the action but Momomoto is working from the bottom.

Momomoto is not content to let Ning control the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Ning is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Momomoto has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Ning lands a nice short elbow.
Ning is trying to control the action in half guard but Momomoto is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Momomoto really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ning . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Ning tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ning has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Ning looks up at the clock and then as Momomoto takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Ning smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Ning tries to move to mount but Momomoto blocks the move with his legs.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
