The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beefcake misses with a wild body shot.
Beefcake tries to bum rush Mashinata with a series of wild strikes but Mashinata uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Mashinata.
Mashinata looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Mashinata tries for a takedown but Beefcake sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stuno Mashinata. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mashinata throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Beefcake's waist but Beefcake gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mashinata off to one side.

Beefcake gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Beefcake breaks from the clinch.

Beefcake moves into the clinch.
Beefcake lands with a short shot to the head.
Mashinata tries a knee to the head but Beefcake blocks it.
Mashinata can't get the takedown.
Mashinata tries to pull guard but Beefcake holds him up against the cage and eventually Mashinata drops back down to his feet.
Beefcake lands a body shot in the clinch.

Beefcake escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Beefcake swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Beefcake clinches up against the cage.
Mashinata drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Beefcake manages to break the clinch.

Mashinata fails to land the takedown.
Beefcake fails to land with a series of punches.
Mashinata tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Beefcake moves into the clinch.
Mashinata is working for takedown but Beefcake is calmly controlling the position for now.
Mashinata goes for a takedown attempt but Beefcake pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Mashinata is breathing heavily.
Mashinata tries to clinch

and Beefcake counters by moving into the clinch.

Beefcake breaks the clinch.
Mashinata takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Beefcake paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Beefcake lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Beefcake pushes Mashinata up against the cage in a clinch.
Beefcake scores with a hook to the body.
Beefcake lands with a left to the head.
Beefcake lands an uppercut.
Mashinata takes a shot to the head.
Beefcake lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Mashinata backwards.

Beefcake breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Beefcake lands a jab to Mashinata's midsection.
Beefcake drops Mashinata with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Mashinata looks back up at him and smiles so Beefcake waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Mashinata is rocked!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mashinata doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Beefcake counters with a left and a right... and another left... and another!! That last one turned off the lights! Mashinata has no idea who he is and is as he gazes up at the spotlights. Brutal knockout!
