Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Osmany Pizziconi (ranked 965 p4p, 988 weight class) and Cormac McCarthy (ranked 121 p4p, 125 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Osmany Pizziconi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Cormac McCarthy!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Taro Takaoka and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCarthy lands a lovely overhand right.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that McCarthy has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
McCarthy forces Pizziconi back against the cage and clinches.
A head punch on the inside from McCarthy fails to land.
McCarthy has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Pizziconi after a bit of a struggle.
McCarthy struggles to land a body shot inside as Pizziconi controls his hands.
McCarthy misses with a punch to the body.
Pizziconi wants a takedown but no success here.

Pizziconi jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as McCarthy walks away with a smile on his face. Pizziconi gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Pizziconi shoots in for a double leg but McCarthy sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

The fight stays on the outside here - McCarthy looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pizziconi has picked McCarthy up - he's going for a ride! Pizziconi dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

McCarthy has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Pizziconi looking to sit in guard and control but McCarthy gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Pizziconi can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as McCarthy controls the pace.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Pizziconi shoots in and bounces McCarthy off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

McCarthy avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Pizziconi seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Pizziconi wants to control from the top but McCarthy keeps moving.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Cormac McCarthy dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
McCarthy fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Pizziconi on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
McCarthy cracks Pizziconi with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Pizziconi closes the distance and clinches up with McCarthy, looking for a takedown. Pizziconi pushes McCarthy against the cage but McCarthy circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Pizziconi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McCarthy tries to avoid it but Pizziconi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McCarthy to the ground. McCarthy escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A lazy left from McCarthy finds it's target.
Pizziconi is rocked!
McCarthy has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
McCarthy ducks down and throws a big overhand right - it lands flush on the jaw, knocking Pizziconi out cold! The fight is over!
