Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Salyn Sarethi (ranked 1595 p4p, 1025 weight class) and Stryder Yuri (ranked 221 p4p, 144 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Sarethi might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Blue Ice. Stryder Yuri struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 186.7lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Stryder Yuri acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sarethi looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Sarethi misses with a looping left.
Yuri ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sarethi moves away.
Yuri moves out of range as Sarethi throws a body kick.
Sarethi avoids the body shot from Yuri.
Yuri tries to clinch up but Sarethi circles away and keeps his distance.
Yuri falls off balance throwing a combination
and Sarethi counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Yuri thinking.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sarethi throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Yuri scores with the left hand. Sarethi knows he should have avoided that one.
Sarethi looks to throw the jab but Yuri is out of range.
A little jabbing left from Yuri on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
A punch lands to the side of Sarethi 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Yuri steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Sarethi. That one must have hurt.
Yuri moves out of range as Sarethi throws a body kick.
Yuri swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Sarethi scores with a crisp jab that stopped Yuri in his tracks.
Yuri slips under a jab.
Yuri bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Yuri moves out of range of the body kick from Sarethi.
Yuri keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

It looks like Stryder Yuri has been cut.

Yuri darts in and clinches Sarethi up against the cage.

Yuri struggles to land a body shot inside as Sarethi controls his hands.

Yuri's coach down at New York Public Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Yuri's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Salyn Sarethi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Yuri throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Sarethi comes in over the top with a devastating right hand! Yuri stumbles back against the cage, looking to regain his senses but Sarethi is on him like rabid pit bull! Yuri slumps to the ground under a storm of punches and this fight is over!

A relieved looking Salyn Sarethi thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
