The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Viktor Lagutenko and Sergei Dronov.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barkley displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bakunin.
Barkley throws a right and a left that Bakunin avoids nicely.

Bakunin darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Bakunin is looking for a kimura but Barkley is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Bakunin to get the leverage.

Barkley has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Bakunin is proving hard to escape from.
Barkley really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bakunin wants to sweep but no luck.

Bakunin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Barkley gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Barkley got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bakunin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Barkley has managed to get both his arms back between Bakunin's legs - danger averted.

Barkley manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bakunin manages to get himself to full guard.

Bakunin looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Barkley has picked Bakunin up and slammed him! Bakunin can't keep hold of the triangle and Barkley manages to pass to side control!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bakunin throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Barkley was covering up waiting for the punch and Bakunin finishes the takedown easily into guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

I really don't envy Barkley right now.
