Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ian Carter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kai Walsh!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Anthony Taglia and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter jabs Walsh to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Carter throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Walsh is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Carter stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Carter wants it to stay on the feet.
Walsh shoots in and drives through. Carter sprawls well.
Walsh tries to close the distance and clinch but Carter swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Carter swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Walsh scores with a push kick.
No joy there for Carter, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Walsh throws a quick inside leg kick.
Walsh tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Carter paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Carter seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Walsh misses with a takedown attempt - Carter sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
It looked like Carter was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Walsh.
Ian Carter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kai Walsh.

Carter drops Walsh with a beautiful combination! Walsh stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Carter is looking for the KO!

Walsh is rocked!

It looks like Kai Walsh has been cut.
We've been told by Carter's head coaches at Ironbound MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Walsh drops his hands momentarily. Carter doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Walsh staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Walsh doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ian Carter!
Ian Carter decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
