Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eric Jacquin (ranked 1706 p4p, 1966 weight class) and Toby MacAlister (ranked 233 p4p, 263 weight class). MacAlister has chosen Megadeth - This Was My Life as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jacquin throws a right and a left that MacAlister avoids nicely.

MacAlister feints a counter leg kick.
MacAlister throws a chopping leg kick but Jacquin manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Jacquin stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Jacquin looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

MacAlister is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jacquin uses his free foot to push down on MacAlister's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for MacAlister.
MacAlister tries to hold on but Jacquin pushes him away.
MacAlister has given up his back. Will we see Jacquin going for some submissions?
