The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Winks takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Crunch! Winks slams his shin into Ferreira-Alves's torso.
Ferreira-Alves looks winded!
Winks uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ferreira-Alves.
Winks connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Winks lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

It looks like Felipe Ferreira-Alves has been cut.
Winks scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Winks shoots for a double leg takedown but Ferreira-Alves sprawls well. He's pushed Winks's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Winks feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Winks is just content to waste time from the top position. Ferreira-Alves takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

BOOM! Winks lands a beautiful left hook that drops Ferreira-Alves. Ferreira-Alves tries to recover but Winks is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Ferreira-Alves lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
