PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Davis (ranked 4547 p4p, 4407 weight class) and Bran Muffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bran Muffin told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Steven Brown and James Atkins.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Muffin tries for a takedown but Davis circles away easily

and Davis counters by clinching up.
Davis slows down the pace here.

Davis jumps guard and drags Muffin to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Muffin throws a big right hand that misses.
Davis pulls Muffin in close to prevent any damage.
Davis has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Muffin has passed into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Davis is letting Muffin control him for a moment.
Muffin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Davis dives in and grabs Muffin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Muffin pushes down on Davis's head and hops out.

Davis changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Muffin looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

That was a close round but I would say that Jackson Davis will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Davis goes for a double leg but Muffin avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Muffin continues to drive forward.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Davis has Muffin pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Davis pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Muffin tumbling to the mat - Davis dives into Muffin's guard.

Davis is fighting to break Muffin's control of his arms but Muffin is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Muffin sneaks out the side door and pushes Davis away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Muffin darts in looking for a takedown but Davis gets double underhooks and turns Muffin into the cage.

Muffin looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Davis is fending him off so far but Muffin persists. Nope, Davis circles away and we're back to standing.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jackson Davis.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Davis, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
