Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Arnold Blevins (ranked 2658 p4p, 3036 weight class) and Freaky Earl (ranked 315 p4p, 363 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Arnold Blevins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Freaky Earl!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, David Hoff and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Earl avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Blevins connects with a body shot.
Blevins throws the left hand but Earl avoids the punch easily.
Blevins definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Blevins cracks Earl with an open hand slap.
Blevins connects with a jab.
Earl tries to clinch up.
Blevins fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Earl.
The crowd cheers as Blevins lands an impressive looking overhand right. Earl doesn't seem phased though.
Blevins ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Blevins lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Earl steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Blevins.

Earl misses with a punch on the inside.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Earl.
Earl looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Blevins is trying to force a seperation but Earl has the dominant position.
Blevins is pressed up against the cage. Earl has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Blevins down to the mat. Blevins avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Blevins throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Earl has a takedown stuffed.
Blevins lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Blevins throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Blevins fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Blevins lands a really nice looking cross but Earl seems unphased.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Blevins checks a leg kick.

Earl has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Blevins finds it's way round the side to connect with Earl's head.
Blevins moves away from the strike by Earl.

Blevins throws a body punch but Earl moves out of range.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Earl lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Blevins has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Blevins and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Earl throws a solid leg kick but Blevins takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Earl.

Blevins throws a lazy right hand but Earl sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Blevins comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Blevins swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Blevins throws a body punch but Earl moves out of range.
Blevins throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Earl on the wrong end of a nice jab.

and Earl holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Earl tried to score with a low kick but Blevins checks it.
Blevins throws a leg kick but Earl moved away.
And Earl tries to counter it with a takedown but Blevins pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Sloppy strikes from Blevins. Those never looked like landing.
Nice defenses there by Blevins.
Blevins is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Earl shoots in looking for a takedown but Blevins manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Earl's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Arnold Blevins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Freaky Earl.

and Earl decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Blevins's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Blevins holds on and takes a little breather.
Blevins can't keep his opponent in guard - Earl advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Earl is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Blevins's half guard.

Blevins knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Earl on the ground.
Earl sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Blevins's guard.
Earl uses his free foot to push down on Blevins's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Blevins.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Earl swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Blevins is now in Earl's guard. A big mistake from Earl there, giving up the dominant position!

Earl has his foot on Blevins's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Blevins works his way back into a safe position though.

Earl is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Earl has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Blevins is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Earl.
The referee asks Blevins politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Blevins prefers to stall for the moment though.
Blevins is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Earl can do to turn this around?
