PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stan Bang (ranked 4387 p4p, 4386 weight class) and Da Borg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Borg comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Robocop - Theme Song kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Stan Bang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Da Borg!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Borg closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bang to the mat! Bang manages to get full guard.
Borg looking to sit in guard and control but Bang gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Bang stands and steps away. Borg gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Borg ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Borg slips under a jab from Bang.
It seemed like Borg was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Borg closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Bang throws Borg to one side and escapes!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bang misses with a wild combination.
Bang throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Borg drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Bang defends it well.

Borg gets a clinch.

Bang is fighting off a takedown attempt but Borg is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Bang to the mat. Bang regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Borg looking to sit in guard and control but Bang gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Borg not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Bang might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bang wants to get up but he can't break Borg's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Bang trying to control but Borg is working from the bottom.
Bang preventing the sweep.

Bang decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Borg, up you get!
Borg checks the leg kick nicely there.
Borg takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Bang throws a good cross that connects.

Borg closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Bang's guard.
Bang looking to hit a scissor sweep but Borg is one step ahead there.
Bang is trying to control the position but Borg postures up.
Borg stands up over Bang, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

It looks like Stan Bang has been cut.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Borg arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Bang's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Da Borg!
A very excited looking Da Borg rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
