The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rios throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Rios throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Clay counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

It looks like Manuel Rios has been cut.
Clay misses with an uppercut. Rios saw that one coming.
Nice defenses there by Clay.
Clay ducks under a wild hook from Rios.
Rios throws the left hand but Clay avoids the punch easily.
Clay staying out of range there.
Rios rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Clay moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Rios has been working on his boxing with his coaches at New York Public Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Clay connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Manuel Rios seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rios throws a hook but Clay avoids it easily.
Clay swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
