The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palhares connects with a nice looking jab.
Chegwin looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Palhares cracks Chegwin with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Palhares lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Palhares scores with a one two! Chegwin had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Palhares fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Chegwin has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Chegwin has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Palhares finds it's way round the side to connect with Chegwin's head.

Chegwin drops Palhares with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Palhares looks back up at him and smiles so Chegwin waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
