Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Charlie River (ranked 942 p4p, 806 weight class) and Michael Bostic (ranked 64 p4p, 54 weight class). River's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Waylon Jennings - I've Always Been Crazy. Bostic has chosen Move as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 18 - 1, fighting out of New York, Charlie River!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Bostic!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
River moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Bostic lands a jab to River's midsection.
River throws a quick inside leg kick.
Bostic takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
River takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
River misses with a wild body shot.
Bostic swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Charlie River seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
River throws a head kick that misses
and Bostic counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Bostic throws a quick inside leg kick.
River just misses with a punch to the body.
River pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
River throws a jab but it's blocked by Bostic.

Bostic takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
River looks to score with a jab to the body but Bostic is just out of range.

Bostic throws a low kick but it's checked well by River.
River misses with a looping left.
River uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bostic.
Charlie River is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

River displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Bostic throws out the jab.

Let's hope that Bostic has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bostic accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

River has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Bostic.
River throws a body punch but Bostic moves out of range.

Bostic closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

River parries the strikes from Bostic easily there. Bostic is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable River to escape.

River on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Bostic wants to control but River is keeping him busy.
Bostic takes a little break here. River wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

River throws a looping overhand right but Bostic ducks down to avoid it.
Bostic was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
River fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bostic manages to avoid it.
Bostic looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Bostic throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bostic pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
River misses with an uppercut.
Charlie River is winning the standup battle so far.
Bostic throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
A little feinted left hand from River on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Bostic misses with a kick to the body.
River misses with a looping left.
Bostic lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
River throws a leg kick but Bostic sees it coming and checks it nicely.
River misses with a body kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts River, as that shot connected.
Bostic lets loose with a powerful body kick. River will feel that in the morning.

and Bostic counters with a shoot takedown. River fights it but they end up in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
River wants to get back to his feet but Bostic is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Bostic is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Bostic trying to control the position from guard on top but River is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

River avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Bostic is nestled in close to River, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Bostic working over River with some ground and pound. River looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Bostic looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks River with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
River is not content to let Bostic control the position.
River on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if River tries to get out of the position.

Bostic is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Bostic wants to free his trapped foot but River is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Bostic lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Charlie River has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Bostic is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Bostic is just content to waste time from the top position. River takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

River is not content to let Bostic control the position.
Bostic wants to control for a moment but River uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
Michael Bostic is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well Bostic has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
