PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vic Fontaine (ranked 4538 p4p, 6051 weight class) and Ridley Scott (ranked 520 p4p, 587 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Vic Fontaine has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Vic Fontaine seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vic Fontaine!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ridley Scott!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, William Peck and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Scott takes the fight into the clinch.

Scott has clasped his hands together around Fontaine's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Scott advances nicely into full mount.
Scott looking to control but Fontaine is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Fontaine avoids a series of strikes thrown by Scott.
Scott misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
BOOM! Scott connects with a massive shot to the dome!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

and Fontaine counters by clinching up.

Scott lands with a short shot to the head.
Scott avoiding damage as Fontaine throws knees to the body.
Fontaine throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Scott blocks it with crossed arms.

Nice body punch from Scott.
Scott has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

It looks like Ridley Scott has been cut.

Fontaine gets through Scott's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Fontaine crunches a lovely knee into Scott's ribcage.
Fontaine definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Fontaine scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Scott tries to work over Fontaine's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Fontaine throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Scott blocks it with crossed arms.

Scott misses with some punches.
Scott drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Fontaine is fighting off a takedown attempt but Scott is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Fontaine to the mat. Fontaine regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Oh Fontaine is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Ridley Scott showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Fontaine gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Scott gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Fontaine is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ridley Scott!
