Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ruslan Beznisko (ranked 2382 p4p, 1249 weight class) and Jalo Ilmarinen (ranked 307 p4p, 161 weight class). Beznisko's entrance music is JANE AIR — Junk. A fine choice. Jalo Ilmarinen will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ruslan Beznisko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jalo Ilmarinen!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Marco Blurström and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ilmarinen misses with a jab to the body

and Beznisko counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ilmarinen won't be happy with that.

Beznisko is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ilmarinen has escaped the position, nice work there.
Ilmarinen can't do much from the bottom here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Beznisko goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Ilmarinen has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Beznisko but great work by Ilmarinen.
The ground and pound from Ilmarinen seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Beznisko is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Ilmarinen in particular looking to stall.
Beznisko is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Shark Tank Private Gym, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
Ilmarinen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Beznisko. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Ilmarinen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Beznisko has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ilmarinen has managed to get both his arms back between Beznisko's legs - danger averted.

Ilmarinen felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Ilmarinen's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
You can see the frustration on Beznisko's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Ilmarinen is trying to stick to Beznisko's back but Beznisko is turning into Ilmarinen. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Ilmarinen's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Beznisko.

Beznisko jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Ilmarinen is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Ilmarinen and Beznisko has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Beznisko, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
