Benedetti comes to the cage accompanied by Atrevete te. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Claudio Benedetti!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Doyle Brunson!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brunson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Benedetti quickly recovers to half guard.
Benedetti has hold of Brunson's hands but Brunson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The fighters are battling for position here. Benedetti manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Benedetti will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Brunson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Benedetti swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Benedetti drops Brunson with a beautiful combination! Brunson stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Benedetti is looking for the KO!

It looks like Doyle Brunson has been cut.

Claudio Benedetti is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Brunson takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Benedetti throws a lazy right hand but Brunson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Brunson is still on wobbly legs! Can Benedetti finish him?
Benedetti takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Brunson tries to land a front kick but Benedetti steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Benedetti is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Brunson flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Brunson is out cold! Benedetti holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Claudio Benedetti!
