Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Du Klippt (ranked 5516 p4p, 4417 weight class) and Frank Datank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Frank Datank will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Du Klippt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Frank Datank!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Steven Brown and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Datank feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Datank sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Klippt throws his legs up looking for a submission but Datank uses it to pass to side control.
Klippt is trying to get back to half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Klippt knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Datank on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Let's hope that Datank has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

You can see the frustration on Klippt's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Datank has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Frank Datank has got the better of the ground game so far.
Datank is chipping away with strikes.

Datank has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Datank takes the fight into the clinch.

Datank is fighting off a takedown attempt but Klippt is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Datank to the mat. Datank regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Datank has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Klippt is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Datank is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Datank has escaped and now he's on top!

Datank is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Datank.
Klippt keeping moving, preventing Datank from controlling successfully.
Datank not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Datank looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Klippt with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Klippt is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Datank pulls his head out easily.

Well Datank has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
