Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jesse Kruger (ranked 1375 p4p, 2814 weight class) and Marcus Johnson (ranked 189 p4p, 353 weight class). Marcus Johnson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marcus Johnson!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson misses with a straight right.
Kruger bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Kruger drops down looking for a counter takedown but Johnson sprawls and moves away.
Johnson lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

enabling Johnson to counter with a crisp jab.
Johnson misses with a hook. Kruger ducked under it nicely.

Kruger feints and as Johnson raises his hands in defense, Kruger changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kruger stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Johnson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kruger won't allow Johnson to get back to his feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kruger throws a strike but Johnson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Kruger has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Johnson doesn't defend quickly enough and Kruger has managed to lock this one up! Can Johnson escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Kruger on a fantastic submission victory.
