The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Percy O'Donnell and Timothy Bukovac.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Fenfang bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Viera (0) vs (4) Fenfang
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Viera stops Fenfang from passing to mount.
Fenfang wants to lay and pray for a moment but Viera keeps working.
Fenfang is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Viera wants to control but Fenfang postures up.
Fenfang is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Viera knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Viera is trying to control Fenfang's posture but Fenfang avoids it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fenfang is trying to get an arm triangle but Viera is defending well.
Viera is not content to let Fenfang control the position.

Fenfang tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Fenfang has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Fenfang thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Viera is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Fenfang's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Fenfang got a little sloppy there for a moment and Viera has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Fenfang has managed to get both his arms back between Viera's legs - danger averted.
