This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the welterweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Suzaku Kururugi! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Chris Law!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.

Kururugi gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Kururugi is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Law can't fight it off and eventually Kururugi manages to take the fight to the floor. Law looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Kururugi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Law swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Law is looking for a triangle here but Kururugi uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Law can't do much from the bottom here.
We've been hearing that Kururugi has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Law slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Kururugi drops back, looking for a kneebar! Law looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Law looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Law!

Law wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kururugi keeps working.

Law looking to control but instead Kururugi has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Law is stalling here. Kururugi is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Law seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Kururugi has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Kururugi drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kururugi jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Law can do anything to dispel that myth.

Kururugi is looking for a kimura but Law is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kururugi to get the leverage.

Kururugi wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Law, who protects the arm well.
Law is trying to control Kururugi's posture but Kururugi avoids it.
Law manages to work his way to half guard, despite Kururugi's best efforts.

Law is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Law is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
