Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Aubrey Grant (ranked 204 p4p, 986 weight class) and Yakubu Okoroji (ranked 21 p4p, 98 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Aubrey Grant!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Yakubu Okoroji!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Sano and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Okoroji throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Grant bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Okoroji's head backwards.
Okoroji takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Grant lands a leg kick that knocks Okoroji off balance momentarily.
Grant ducks under a wild hook from Okoroji.
Grant really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
A looping hook to the body misses from Grant. Okoroji does a little dance to reset his feet.
Grant lands a leg kick that knocks Okoroji off balance momentarily.
Horrible takedown attempt by Okoroji or perhaps it was just good defense by Grant, which made it look bad.
Grant swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Grant lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Okoroji's coach down at MMA Training and Sparring Buddies was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Okoroji's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
A jab from Grant finds it's way through Okoroji's defenses.
Grant connects with a solid leg kick.
Okoroji takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Grant lands the left hand.
Okoroji takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Grant fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Okoroji.
Okoroji throws an off balance right hand
and Grant counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Okoroji shoots in for a double leg but Grant sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Okoroji shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Grant is trying to defend but Okoroji finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Okoroji works his foot free and advances to mount.
Okoroji looking to control but Grant is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Grant has given up his back here. Will Okoroji look for the submission or keep pounding away?

Grant staying busy and making it hard for Okoroji to control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Okoroji has the hooks in. Grant is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Okoroji is persistently looking for the submission but Grant is defending it well.
Grant has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Okoroji.
Okoroji is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Grant with him. Grant is trying to defend but Okoroji has an arm under the chin now! Grant grimaces and is forced to tap out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Yakubu Okoroji!
