Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stan Bang (ranked 6287 p4p, 25538 weight class) and Jackson Grant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Stan Bang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jackson Grant!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Roosa Järviläinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bang thows a left - swing and a miss!

Grant fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bang sprawls well initially but Grant persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Grant is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bang defends it well.
Grant is taking a breather. Bang says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Grant decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Grant gets the takedown into side control.
Grant is staying tight to Bang's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Grant thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Bang wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Grant misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

The strikes coming from Grant are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Grant tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Grant is trying to get an arm triangle but Bang is defending well.
Bang is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Grant's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Bang manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Grant keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Grant manages to break the clinch.

Grant has closed the distance and engaged Bang in a clinch.

Grant gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Bang can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Grant controls the pace.
Bang is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Grant is controlling him.
Grant sitting in guard here, content to control.
Bang wants to get back to his feet but Grant is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Bang is trying to control the position but Grant postures up.
Grant prevents Bang from getting back to his feet.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Bang shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Grant defends it nicely.
Grant tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

A head kick misses from Bang.
Stan Bang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Grant darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Bang has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Grant is on him like a limpet, forcing Bang back against the cage.

Grant has hold of one of Bang's legs. Bang is fighting the takedown attempt but Grant gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Bang wants to sweep but no luck.
Grant stops Bang from standing up.

Bang is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bang has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Grant breaks from the clinch.

Grant closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Bang quickly recovers to half guard.
Grant looks winded!

Bang is trying to stand.

Bang pushes Grant off and gets back to his feet.
Grant is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Bang.
Grant lands with a kick to the temple. Bang shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

It looks like Stan Bang has been cut.
Bang misses with a head kick.
Grant takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Bang sizes up Grant with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Grant clinches up against the cage.
Grant keeps control of Bang as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Bang is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Stan Bang will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Stan Bang's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Bang tries a head kick but it misses.
Bang throws a hook but Grant blocks it.
Donk. Bang catches Grant right on the button with a cross.
Grant takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Grant manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Bang on his heels. He'll look to pass Bang's guard now, I'm sure.
Grant controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Grant gets to his feet - Bang follows without any prompting.
Bang just misses with a punch to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Grant displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Bang throws out the jab.
Bang misses with a head kick.
Bang is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Bang gets tackled into the cage by Grant. Grant maintains the clinch.
Bang is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Grant controlling the action here for a moment.
Bang is trying to break the clinch but Grant is controlling him.

Grant lands an elbow inside that Bang shrugs off.
Grant keeps control of Bang as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Bang misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Grant.

Grant breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Grant manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Bang on his heels. He'll look to pass Bang's guard now, I'm sure.
Grant throws a big elbow that misses.
Grant engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Bang wants to get back to his feet but Grant is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Grant tries to free his leg and advance position but Bang is retaining full guard.

Grant sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Grant won't allow Bang to get back to his feet.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Bang shoots in but Grant avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Bang goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Bang misses with a double jab

and Grant counters by clinching up.

Grant drags the fight down to the ground.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Grant seems keen to control Bang's posture.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Grant keeping moving, preventing Bang from controlling successfully.
Jackson Grant has got the better of the ground game so far.
Bang throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Bang gets to his feet. Grant looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Grant swats away the attempt to clinch by Bang.

Grant shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Bang napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Bang sneaks out the side door and pushes Grant away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Grant is breathing heavily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Grant has Bang up against the cage in a clinch.

Grant breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Grant avoids the head kick by Bang.
Bang throws a low kick, looking for Grant's leg but Grant calmly moves out of range.
Grant should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
A looping hook to the body misses from Bang. Grant does a little dance to reset his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bang is trying to force a seperation but Grant has the dominant position.
A frustrated look appears on Bang's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Bang looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Bang wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Grant has him pressed against the cage.

Grant drags the fight down to the ground.
Bang trying to stand up but can't free himself from Grant's guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Stan Bang will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Stan Bang's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

A head kick misses from Bang.
Bang scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

Grant clinches up against the cage.
Bang takes an elbow to the forehead.
Grant jerks Bang's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Bang drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Grant goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Grant because Bang was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:24 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knee). Jackson Grant!
