Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michel Overmars (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Summers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Overmars comes to the cage accompanied by Union Underground - Across The Nation. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Summers !
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Paul Tew and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Overmars closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Overmars has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Summers avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Overmars manages to break the clinch.
Summers misses with a double jab.
Summers misses with a looping right.
Overmars doesn't manage to clinch there - Summers circles away.
Overmars throws a sloppy head kick and Summers moves out of range easily.
Summers dives in and grabs Overmars's left leg, looking for a takedown. Overmars pushes down on Summers 's head and hops out.
Overmars tries to clinch but Summers is having none of it.
Overmars connects with a high kick.


It looks like Mark Summers has been cut.

Overmars shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Summers manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Overmars seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Summers is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Overmars defends well.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Summers walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Summers swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Overmars misses with a few strikes there.
Summers throws a nice looking combination but Overmars bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Michel Overmars seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Overmars darts in and clinches Summers up against the cage.

Overmars escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Overmars shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Summers 's guard.
Summers is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Overmars might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Summers can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Overmars controls the pace.

Overmars thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Overmars drops back looking for a leg! Summers is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Summers manages to kick Overmars off! Overmars jumps back into Summers 's guard.
Summers is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Summers takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Summers throws a looping overhand right but Overmars ducks down to avoid it.
A solid leg kick lands there for Overmars.
Overmars looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Summers lands a right hook to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

and Summers counters with a nice body shot.
Overmars moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.


That has opened up Mark Summers 's cut even more.
Overmars misses with a wild combination.
Overmars is looking to clinch but Summers is avoiding it.
Summers looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Overmars.

Overmars throws a nice inside leg kick.
Summers is breathing heavily.
Summers has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Overmars finds it's way round the side to connect with Summers 's head.


The cut above Mark Summers 's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Overmars doesn't manage to clinch there - Summers circles away.
Overmars swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Summers with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Overmars to score with a decent uppercut.
Overmars lets loose with a powerful body kick. Summers will feel that in the morning.
Michel Overmars is winning the standup battle so far.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The fight stays on the outside here - Overmars looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Overmars rushes Summers and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Overmars landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Overmars escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Overmars tries to close the distance and clinch but Summers swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Overmars pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Overmars moves into the clinch.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Mark Summers 's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
