The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emperor missing with a left hand there. Rabbitte was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Emperor tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Rabbitte manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Rabbitte is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Paul Rabbitte seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A jab from Emperor misses.
Rabbitte lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Emperor circles away quickly and effectively.
Emperor swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Emperor misses the shot to the body.

It looks like Paul Rabbitte has been cut.
Emperor looks to throw the jab but Rabbitte is out of range.
Rabbitte lands a head kick. Emperor smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

and Emperor counters with a straight right hand.

Emperor is rocked!

Rabbitte throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Emperor was covering up waiting for the punch and Rabbitte finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Emperor has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Rabbitte is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Oh Emperor is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
We've been hearing reports that Emperor has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Rabbitte manages to break the clinch.
Emperor seems to have got his legs back now.

Rabbitte takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Rabbitte ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Fedor Emperor is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

It looked like Emperor was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Rabbitte.
Emperor throws a body shot but no joy.
Rabbitte throws a left and a right that both miss
and Emperor counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Rabbitte misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Emperor.
Emperor bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Rabbitte's head backwards.

That has opened up Paul Rabbitte's cut even more.
Rabbitte throws a sloppy head kick and Emperor moves out of range easily.
A combination from Rabbitte does no damage.

and Emperor counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Rabbitte looks winded!
Donk. Rabbitte catches Emperor right on the button with a cross.
Rabbitte closes the distance and lands a one-two.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Emperor smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Emperor throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Rabbitte stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Rabbitte drops his hands momentarily and Emperor takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Emperor cracks Rabbitte with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Rabbitte looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Emperor finish him?

Rabbitte is rocked!

The cut above Paul Rabbitte's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Rabbitte walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Emperor swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!
