Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Yoji Anjo Anjo (ranked 2990 p4p, 5388 weight class) and Conor OShea (ranked 372 p4p, 547 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 27 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Yoji Anjo Anjo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 37 - 1, fighting out of London, Conor OShea!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Saam Ante and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Anjo moves into range and clinches up with OShea.
OShea is trying to push Anjo away but Anjo has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
A head punch on the inside from OShea fails to land.
OShea looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
OShea tries to circle away but Anjo has him pinned against the cage.

OShea jumps guard and drags Anjo to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Anjo sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Anjo definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Anjo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. OShea is keeping the position for now.
OShea is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

That's one minute gone in the round.
OShea has his hands on Anjo's head, controlling the position.
Anjo is stalling in the full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
OShea fails to land with a series of punches.

OShea shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Anjo's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Anjo is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Anjo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. OShea gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Anjo might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Anjo is pulling down on OShea's head to control his posture.
OShea trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
OShea keeps trying to improve his position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
OShea with a flurry of punches that miss.
OShea trying to control the position from guard on top but Anjo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Anjo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. OShea defends it easily.
OShea must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Anjo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. OShea gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Anjo is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
OShea trying to control the position from guard on top but Anjo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Anjo working for submissions but it's allowed OShea to get to half guard.
My spies in Tycoon Gym inform me that OShea has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

OShea is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Anjo sees it coming and defends easily.
Anjo is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of OShea's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take OShea's back!
OShea is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Anjo off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

OShea is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Anjo gets his way!
Anjo really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for OShea.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
