The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruiz on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Diego paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Diego connects with a good right hand that stumbles Ruiz. Ruiz circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Diego lands a glancing blow to the side of Ruiz's head.
Nice straight punches there by Diego. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Diego.

Diego rushes Ruiz and presses him up against the cage.
Ruiz wants to get back to striking at distance but Diego won't allow it.
Diego definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Diego scores with a shoulder strike.
Ruiz is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Diego keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Ruiz's efforts to push away.
Diego has Ruiz pressed against the cage, preventing Ruiz from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
