Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cathal Doherty (ranked 473 p4p, 328 weight class) and Kane Thoupos (ranked 66 p4p, 43 weight class). Doherty kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Jeremy- Pearl Jam. Thoupos comes into a darkened arena with his song building. 151 Rum - JID kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thoupos blocks a jab.
Thoupos turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Thoupos ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Thoupos.
Thoupos takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Thoupos thuds a left hand into Doherty's body.
Doherty missing with a left hand there. Thoupos was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Doherty ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Thoupos moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cathal Doherty seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
