Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tom Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sebastien SOBO (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tom Jones could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Sebastien SOBO's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tom Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sebastien SOBO!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones clinches with his opponent.

Jones escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jones tests SOBO's chin there with a solid looking shot.
A nice leg kick lands there from Jones.
Jones moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Jones darts in and clinches SOBO up against the cage.

Jones has dropped down and is working for a takedown. SOBO is trying to keep an underhook but Jones manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Jones is taking a breather. SOBO says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
SOBO tries to roll over but Jones keeps him under control.

Jones is looking for a kimura but SOBO is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jones to get the leverage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jones wants to stand but SOBO has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones content to control rather than advance.

Jones seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Jones wants to take a breather but SOBO is having none of it.

Jones decides to stand up, so the ref orders SOBO to his feet.

Jones changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. SOBO looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Jones is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

SOBO shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jones as he jumps to the side.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

SOBO had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Jones is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. SOBO Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Jones's back instead.
