Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sam Morril (ranked 3809 p4p, 24666 weight class) and Jon Alexander (ranked 435 p4p, 558 weight class). Alexander has chosen "Land of Confusion" by Disturbed as his entrance music. Sam Morril has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alexander throws a combination that misses
and Morril counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Morril throws the left hand but Alexander avoids the punch easily.
Morril moves out of range of the body kick from Alexander.
Morril throwing a counter right hand but Alexander manages to avoid it.
Alexander does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Morril definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Jon Alexander seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Morril checks the leg kick nicely there.
Alexander's coach down at Pure Progress Fitness was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Alexander's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Alexander has taken the fight to the clinch.
Morril digs a right hand into Alexander's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Alexander's gas tank.

Morril breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Morril's jab looks to have found its range, popping Alexander under the eye.
The fight stays on the outside here - Alexander looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Morril swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

Morril on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Alexander. Alexander obviously looking to wear him down.
Alexander throws a low kick but Morril moves out of range easily.
Alexander moves in looking to clinch but Morril pushes him off.
Morril lands a slapping body shot.
Alexander avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Morril lands with a hook. Alexander tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Alexander tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Morril connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Morril rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Alexander moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Alexander tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Morril manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
A left lands for Morril.

Alexander finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Morril fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Alexander to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Alexander looks to clinch but Morril throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Alexander taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
