This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 15 wins and 20 losses; Volodymyr Kersikov! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 16 losses; David McDonald!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Dillan Fox and Trevor Gratis.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
McDonald fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kersikov sprawls well initially but McDonald persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Kersikov (0) vs (2) McDonald
Kersikov is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at KFA, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
McDonald looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Kersikov is defending against the submission attempts here by McDonald.
McDonald is looking for submissions but instead, Kersikov has regained full guard.

McDonald has his foot on Kersikov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kersikov works his way back into a safe position though.

Kersikov seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down McDonald for as long as he can get away with.

McDonald has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Kersikov. Oh but McDonald has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Kersikov goes limp - he's gone! McDonald jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
