Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Serwacy Smolarek (ranked 3356 p4p, 4263 weight class) and Ryan Gordon (ranked 412 p4p, 494 weight class). Smolarek comes to the cage accompanied by No Easy Way Out. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Serwacy Smolarek!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ryan Gordon!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Smolarek misses the target.
Gordon uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Smolarek.
Smolarek keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Gordon closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gordon lands in his opponent's guard.
Gordon looking to sit in guard and control but Smolarek gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Gordon pulls Smolarek in close to prevent any damage.
Gordon manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Smolarek manages to get himself to full guard.

Gordon wants to control from the top but Smolarek keeps moving.
Smolarek has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Smolarek is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
The crowd cheers as Smolarek lands an impressive looking overhand right. Gordon doesn't seem phased though.
Gordon scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smolarek takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

We've been informed that Gordon has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Smolarek is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Gordon content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Gordon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Smolarek keeps working.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Smolarek throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Gordon sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Nice uppercut lands for Smolarek. That snapped Gordon's head back.
A slow jab from Smolarek misses its intended target.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Smolarek lands a left and a right that send Gordon crashing to the mat, dazed. Smolarek thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Gordon fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Smolarek to the ground. Gordon is now in Smolarek's guard.
Gordon has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Smolarek is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gordon is controlling him.

Gordon stands up over Smolarek, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Gordon scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Smolarek is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Gordon can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
