Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Callum Davidson (ranked 4446 p4p, 4441 weight class) and Joel Berghult (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Callum Davidson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joel Berghult!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Steve Erwin and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Berghult has a takedown stuffed.
Davidson is looking to counter the offense by Berghult and move into the clinch.

Davidson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Berghult's half guard.

Davidson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Berghult sees it coming and defends easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Davidson takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Berghult is looking to escape.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Berghult can do anything to dispel that myth.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Berghult enables Davidson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Berghult manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Davidson gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Davidson rushes Berghult and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Berghult has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Davidson is trying to keep an underhook but Berghult manages to get the takedown into half guard.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

That was a close second round but I would say that Callum Davidson will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Berghult is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Davidson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Davidson looking to break Berghult's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Berghult remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Davidson will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
