Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Xi Jang (ranked 5251 p4p, 24887 weight class) and Johnny Liew (ranked 363 p4p, 387 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Xi Jang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Johnny Liew!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Aafke Stam and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liew takes the fight into the clinch.
Liew is pressed up against the cage. Jang has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Liew down to the mat. Liew avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Liew moves into the clinch successfully.
Jang is working for takedown but Liew is calmly controlling the position for now.
Liew looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Liew pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Liew takes the fight into the clinch.
Liew misses with an elbow strike.
Jang tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Xi Jang. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Liew tries to land a knee to the head but Jang blocks with his arms.
Jang has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Liew after a bit of a struggle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Liew gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Jang.
Liew has clasped his hands together around Jang's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Liew content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jang tries to get back to half guard but can't.

The referee asks Liew politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Liew prefers to stall for the moment though.
Jang is looking to reverse the position.
Jang sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Liew lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Jang actively working from the bottom here.
Liew slows the pace down in half guard.
Jang is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Liew pulls his head out easily.
Liew is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Jang looking for submissions off his back.
Liew perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Liew trying to mount his opponent but Jang defends it.
Liew takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Jang is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Liew pulls his head out easily.
Jang looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Liew seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Liew is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Jang is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Liew pulls his head out easily.
Liew slows the pace down in half guard.
Liew tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jang has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Liew. Oh but Jang has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Liew goes limp - he's gone! Jang jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
