PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chris Zeal (ranked 4141 p4p, 3728 weight class) and Hal Hawkes (ranked 480 p4p, 449 weight class). Zeal comes into the arena with War eye blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hal Hawkes!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Albert Achterberg and Patrick Alders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawkes blocks a jab.
A punch lands to the side of Zeal 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Hawkes has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Zeal finds it's way round the side to connect with Hawkes's head.

It looks like Hal Hawkes has been cut.
Hawkes staying out of range there.
Hawkes is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Zeal misses with a hook.
Hawkes changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Zeal misses the jab.
Zeal definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Hawkes throws a body punch but Zeal moves out of range.
Zeal takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Hawkes connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Hawkes throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Zeal on the side of the head.

Zeal is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hawkes cracks Zeal with a left hook right on the temple and Zeal goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Hawkes lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Zeal is OK!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Hal Hawkes!
After winning the bout, Hal Hawkes thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
Chris Zeal was interviewed post fight and said 'I got no time to jibba-jabba'.
