PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Buster Glover (ranked 812 p4p, 787 weight class) and Aonghus Mormaer (ranked 101 p4p, 97 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Aonghus Mormaer was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Glover misses with a body shot
and Mormaer counters with a nice uppercut.
Glover scores with a decent looking hook.
Glover punishes Mormaer's body with a nice straight punch.
Glover throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Mormaer sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Mormaer uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Glover.
Mormaer throws out a counter right but Glover avoids it with no problem.
Mormaer ducks under a wild hook from Glover.
Mormaer stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Glover.
Glover misses with a lunging right hand
and Mormaer counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Glover lets loose with a powerful body kick. Mormaer will feel that in the morning.
Glover pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Glover lands with a cross.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Glover misses with a hook. Mormaer ducked under it nicely.
As Glover backs off Mormaer throws a huge counter combo but Glover manages to avoid it all.
Glover looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Glover moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Glover jabs Mormaer right on the nose. Mormaer blinks but takes it well.

Mormaer has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Glover misses with a hook.
Glover digs a good hook to Mormaer's body.
Glover throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
A little jabbing left from Mormaer on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Mormaer throws a push kick but Glover slaps the foot to one side.
Buster Glover seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Glover scores with a body shot.
Glover lands with a nice body punch.
Mormaer uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Glover.
Glover missing with a left hand there. Mormaer was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Mormaer now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Glover throws a looping overhand right but Mormaer ducks down to avoid it.
Mormaer on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Mormaer takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Glover cracks Mormaer with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Glover missing with a left hand there. Mormaer was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Mormaer moves into the clinch successfully.

Mormaer breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Mormaer throws a lazy right hand but Glover sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Glover takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Glover waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Mormaer.
Mormaer misses the jab.
Glover half committed to a counter leg kick.
Glover throws the left hand but Mormaer avoids the punch easily.
Glover fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mormaer manages to avoid it.
Glover throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Glover getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Glover throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Mormaer stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Glover cracks Mormaer with a good jab.
Glover lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Glover wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Glover sends Mormaer crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Glover is motioning to the referee to let Mormaer up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Mormaer is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Glover connects with a picture perfect right hand that knocks Mormaer out cold! This one is over in a flash!
