Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Red Greene (ranked 32 p4p, 295 weight class) and Jerry Short (ranked 4 p4p, 16 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Short's choice of entrance music: Survivor - Eye Of The Tiger. On his way into the cage it seems that Red Greene has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Red Greene seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jerry Short!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Short dives in for a single leg takedown but Greene sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Greene appears to be looking for a big counter.
Horrible takedown attempt by Short or perhaps it was just good defense by Greene, which made it look bad.

Short shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Greene manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Greene will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Greene is pulling down on Short's head. It's preventing any offense from Short, at least for the moment.
Short lands a couple of digs.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Greene wants to sweep here but Short controlling him for the moment.

Greene is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Short keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Greene's head.
Short content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Short tries to free his leg and advance position but Greene is retaining full guard.

Greene is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Short is aware though and is defending well.

Short is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Greene is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Greene has escaped and now he's on top!

We've been hearing good reports from Greene's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Short has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Greene should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Short has tightened it up now! Greene should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
