Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Borscht Balgav!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ren Nakamura!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Sandra Marshall and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Nakamura is trying hard to land a takedown here. Balgav sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

and Balgav counters with a three punch combo that has Nakamura backing up. Nakamura nods at Balgav to acknowledge the strikes.

Balgav has picked Nakamura up - he's going for a ride! Balgav dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Balgav stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nakamura swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Balgav knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nakamura on the ground.

Horrible takedown attempt by Nakamura or perhaps it was just good defense by Balgav, which made it look bad.

Nakamura has his takedown stuffed
and Balgav counters with a left and a right... and another left... and another!! That last one turned off the lights! Nakamura has no idea who he is and is as he gazes up at the spotlights. Brutal knockout!
