The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, John Mangel and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rocket shoots in and gets a takedown into Gretel's guard.
Gretel scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Rocket staying out of range there.
Rocket looks to score with a jab to the body but Gretel is just out of range.
Gretel pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rocket throws a lazy uppercut
and Rocket takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Gretel wants to clinch up but Rocket keeps it at a distance.
Gretel ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Peter Gretel is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Gretel cracks Rocket with a good jab.
Rocket scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Rocket drops back looking for a leg! Gretel is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gretel manages to kick Rocket off! Rocket jumps back into Gretel's guard.

Rocket slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Pocket Rocket seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gretel defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Rocket.
Rocket misses the shot to the body.
Gretel is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rocket.
Rocket walks into a stiff left hand from Gretel.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Rocket, as that shot connected.

and Gretel counters with a stiff right hand.
Rocket swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Gretel throws a sloppy body shot
enabling Rocket to counter with a crisp jab.
Rocket lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Rocket.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Rocket fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gretel avoids it really well and circles away.
Gretel lands a glancing blow to the side of Rocket's head.
Gretel misses with a wild body shot.
Rocket fails to land the takedown.
Peter Gretel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pocket Rocket.
Whack! Gretel lands a heavy head kick that drops Rocket. The ref tackles Gretel to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Rocket was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Peter Gretel!
After winning the bout, Peter Gretel thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
