The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Chris Saunders and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lavender connects with a jab.
It looks like Almir Burekovic has been cut.
Burekovic looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Lavender wants to control but Burekovic is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Lavender wants to improve his position but Burekovic is controlling well.
Burekovic is taking a breather. Lavender says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Burekovic really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lavender. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Burekovic throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lavender works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Lavender working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Burekovic doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Lavender is tightening it up a little... Burekovic has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Burekovic reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Burekovic taps out! Nice BJJ there by Lavender!
