The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
GUN avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
De Sanos fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

GUN changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. De Sanos looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
De Sanos is looking to reverse the position.

GUN looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for De Sanos!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

GUN is going olschool here, as he tries to force De Sanos to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so De Sanos shrugs it off.
De Sanos is looking to get to half guard.
De Sanos sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
GUN seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but De Sanos does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
De Sanos manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
GUN tries to lock up and control but De Sanos gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The referee warns GUN that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
