Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Reino Ruttu (ranked 1357 p4p, 1434 weight class) and Juan Carlos (ranked 194 p4p, 205 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Reino Ruttu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Juan Carlos!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Darius Henderson and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carlos shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Ruttu avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Ruttu looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Carlos accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Carlos has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Carlos uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Ruttu has time to react.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Juan Carlos will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Carlos feints and as Ruttu raises his hands in defense, Carlos changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Carlos is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.

Carlos lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ruttu circles away quickly and effectively.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Carlos feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Carlos tries to free his leg and advance position but Ruttu is retaining full guard.
Ruttu wants to get back to his feet but Carlos is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

You get the feeling that Ruttu really doesn't like being in this position too much.

The referee warns Ruttu that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Ruttu manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Carlos prevents Ruttu from improving his position.
Ruttu won't allow Carlos to pass to mount.
Carlos seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Carlos is trying to control. Ruttu wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Carlos connects with a nice short shot to Ruttu's temple.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Carlos is nestled in close to Ruttu, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Carlos is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Juan Carlos is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Ruttu looks like he's trying to stand up.

I've got Carlos winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
