PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between nat north (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cung Liouz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Liouz has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Cung Liouz will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
north pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A combination from north does no damage.

north scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
north lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Liouz struggling a bit here.
Liouz looks gassed!
north works to advance to full mount. Liouz defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

north working for a guillotine from mount but Liouz is in no mood to give up.

Liouz is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

north working for a submission but Liouz is keeping him at bay.
Liouz swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
north thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Liouz slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
north wants to pass to mount but Liouz is defending the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
north uses his free foot to push down on Liouz's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Liouz.
Liouz is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, north has taken his back.

Liouz won't enjoy being in this position. north looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Liouz is tapping - it's over boys! north picks up the submission victory!
