Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gunnar Bloodaxe (ranked 682 p4p, 730 weight class) and Klaus Chugman (ranked 89 p4p, 93 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 14 - 1, fighting out of New York, Gunnar Bloodaxe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 46 - 43 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Klaus Chugman!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Sano and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bloodaxe misses the jab.

Chugman has closed the distance and engaged Bloodaxe in a clinch.

Bloodaxe breaks the clinch.
A decent looking cross lands there for Bloodaxe.
Chugman misses with a hook. Bloodaxe ducked under it nicely.
Chugman wants to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chugman misses the jab.
Chugman looks to throw the jab but Bloodaxe is out of range.
Bloodaxe throws a hook but Chugman blocks it.
Bloodaxe has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Chugman throws a big shot that misses.

Chugman rushes Bloodaxe and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Bloodaxe can't find room to land a body shot as Chugman controls the action.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Bloodaxe.

Bloodaxe breaks the clinch.
A cross from Bloodaxe lands.
Bloodaxe takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Chugman tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Bloodaxe manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
A little feinted left hand from Bloodaxe on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Bloodaxe stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bloodaxe wants it to stay on the feet.
Bloodaxe throws a big counter combination but Chugman scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Chugman pushes Bloodaxe up against the cage in a clinch.
Chugman misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Bloodaxe wants to get back to striking at distance but Chugman won't allow it.
Chugman blocks an uppercut.
Bloodaxe can't break the clinch.

Bloodaxe breaks from the clinch.

Chugman has taken the fight to the clinch.
Chugman is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Bloodaxe is defending well.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Bloodaxe.

Chugman turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Bloodaxe bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bloodaxe avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Horrible takedown attempt by Chugman or perhaps it was just good defense by Bloodaxe, which made it look bad.

Chugman has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Chugman fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Bloodaxe looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Klaus Chugman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bloodaxe looks to land a right hand but Chugman moved out of range.

Chugman shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Chugman is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Bloodaxe keeping control of the position.

Bloodaxe keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Chugman content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Chugman throwing shots but Bloodaxe is blocking nicely.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Gunnar Bloodaxe will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

No joy there for Chugman, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

enabling Bloodaxe to counter with a crisp jab.

Chugman ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bloodaxe moves away.

Bloodaxe throws a jab but it's blocked by Chugman.
Chugman tries to close the distance and clinch but Bloodaxe swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Bloodaxe is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Chugman wants to clinch but Bloodaxe slips to the side
and Bloodaxe connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

and Bloodaxe counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

and Chugman counters with a nice double leg into side control. Bloodaxe won't be happy with that.

Bloodaxe throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bloodaxe is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Chugman can do to turn this around?

Bloodaxe's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Chugman swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Chugman throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Bloodaxe tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Chugman is in Bloodaxe's guard.
Chugman slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Chugman wants to control from the top but Bloodaxe keeps moving.
Gunnar Bloodaxe overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Chugman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bloodaxe swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Chugman throws a big elbow that misses.
Chugman chips away with some ground and pound.
Chugman working some strikes from top position.
Chugman throwing strikes from guard but Bloodaxe blocks nicely.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Bloodaxe lands with an uppercut that bounces Chugman off the cage and back into range.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Bloodaxe ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Chugman moves away.
Chugman is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Klaus Chugman has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Chugman darts in looking for a takedown but Bloodaxe gets double underhooks and turns Chugman into the cage.
As Chugman looks to move away, Bloodaxe throws a big counter combo but Chugman just gets out of the way.
Chugman throws a lazy uppercut
and Bloodaxe counters with a nice low kick that buckles Chugman's knee momentarily.
Chugman dives in for a single leg takedown but Bloodaxe sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
It looked like Bloodaxe wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Chugman blocks the body kick.
Chugman with the counter takedown but Bloodaxe avoids it easily.
Chugman thuds a left hand into Bloodaxe's body.
Chugman gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Bloodaxe counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Chugman displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Bloodaxe throws out the jab.
Chugman changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Chugman scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Bloodaxe doesn't seem bothered though.

Chugman closes the distance and pushes Bloodaxe back into the cage.

Chugman moves into range and clinches up with Bloodaxe.
Chugman is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Bloodaxe breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bloodaxe connects with an inside leg kick.

Chugman has his takedown stuffed
letting Bloodaxe counter with a right hand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Bloodaxe lands a left and a right that send Chugman crashing to the mat, dazed. Bloodaxe thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Chugman is still on wobbly legs! Can Bloodaxe finish him?
Chugman throws a combination that misses
and Bloodaxe counters with an outside leg kick.
Chugman takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Chugman throws a left and a right that both miss
and Bloodaxe scores with a counter punch that sends Chugman to the canvas! Bloodaxe smells blood - he's punishing Chugman with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Chugman has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gunnar Bloodaxe!
