PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Karel Sup (ranked 2929 p4p, 2747 weight class) and Reinhard Tristan Eugen Heydrich (ranked 151 p4p, 135 weight class). Heydrich comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Wass wollen wir trinken kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Karel Sup!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Reinhard Tristan Eugen Heydrich!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Donatello Bradman and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sup jabbing away but nothing is landing.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Heydrich has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Heydrich throws a head kick but Sup moves out of range.

Sup seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Heydrich does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Heydrich is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Sup off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Sup gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Sup apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Sup feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Heydrichs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

A nice side step and Heydrich releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Sup lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
