The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boxley jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Boxley's coach down at Alpha Brasil was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Boxley's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Boxley lands a lovely overhand right.

It looks like Leonardo Garcia has been cut.

and Garcia counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Boxley forces Garcia back against the cage and clinches.

I was talking to Garcia's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Garcia tries to pull guard but Boxley forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Boxley throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
A nice left hand lands by Boxley.

Boxley pushes Garcia back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Garcia jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Boxley walks away with a smile on his face. Garcia gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Boxley takes the fight into the clinch.

Boxley on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Boxley lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Boxley is leaning against Garcia and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Garcia tries to throw a body punch but Boxley avoids it by throwing Garcia back against the cage.
Boxley digs a right hand underneath Garcia's ribcage. Garcia let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Garcia is breathing heavily.
Boxley lands a nice uppercut.

Boxley lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Garcia or not.

Oh Garcia is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Boxley creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Garcia with a big uppercut! Garcia tries to clinch up but Boxley pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Garcia to the mat! Garcia covers up and Boxley unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
